New Media Application To further ourselves as a group we created a Facebook page for just members of One Loud Cat Productions. This makes it easy for us to arrange meetings, share ideas and talk to each other about things which need to be done for the project. This use of modern social networking really helps us become a better team and more efficiently complete work. ![]() |

Not only did we set up a private page but we also set up a public one. This allows people to view our production company and see the things which we have done. It also allows us as administrators to ask the group questions, get responses on video either we have made or we have found about our topic and it also allows us to give links to our other uses of new media applications such as yola, wix, zoomerang, youtube and many more. ![]() Another new media application we relied heavily upon for research was Zoomerang. This is a website where you are able to create surveys and polls. From looking at the results you get, you can find out what people think about the subject. It also works well with Facebook (You are able to post links to the survery on here) and Twitter (you can tweet a link to your surveys). We used this survey to ask people questions about our superhero documentary like "Have you heard of superhero phenomenon currently sweeping the United Kingdom". We were able to gather a large amount of data from these survey about which mode and what people would like to see from our documentary. ![]() Another new media application we made full use of is Twitter. Twitter allows us to message or "tweet" updates on the kinda of projects we're working on and things we're doing. This is good because it means that our followers are always aware of what members of One Loud Cat are up to. We can also use twitter to promote our documentary as the festival gets closer. ![]() Although not a new media application in the sense of promotion, I developed posters using software such as MS paint and Gimp. As I hand drew a concept art idea I had to scan it in to my computer. I then used MS paint to draw around the pencil and add text to the design. We then had our first concept idea for a poster. I then used the free software Gimp to develop my second poster based around the Superman logo. These softwares made designing the posters alot easier. |
