Ofcom Rules that apply to our film

7.3 Where a person is invited to make a contribution to a programme (except when the subject matter is trivial or their participation minor) they should normally, at an appropriate stage:

be told the nature and purpose of the programme, what the programme is about and be given a clear explanation of why they were asked to contribute and when (if known) and where it is likely to be first broadcast;
be told what kind of contribution they are expected to make, for example live, pre-recorded, interview, discussion, edited, unedited, etc.;
be informed about the areas of questioning and, wherever possible, the nature of other likely contributions;
be made aware of any significant changes to the programme as it develops which might reasonably affect their original consent to participate, and which might cause material unfairness;

As DOP and Co-cameraman it is important to look at the equipment we will be using, this is the Sony HVR V1E. We will be using this camera as it is fairly lightweight, records in HD. As this camera works in a similar format to the Sony PD170 which we have been using for the last year, we are confident using the HVR for our project.

As we may end up filming for a long period of time, away from any power source it is obvious we will need to bring along spare batteries for the camera in order to get as much necessary footage as possible.

A fig rig could be useful when out filming if we encounter any sort of action. We may need to run or follow a subject at speed, using a fig rig will enable us to keep the shots steady but keep up with the subject. A shoulder mount can also achieve a similar effect, but we will consider using this along side using the Canon 550D, which we plan to use as a secondary camera, to collect stills and other footage.

The 550D will be a useful addition to our kit because it will allow use to capture high quality stills, this can be effective within our film because it will allow us to emphasise a particular point, or to break up the action of our film to gain more audience attention.

be told the nature of their contractual rights and obligations and those of the programme maker and broadcaster in relation to their contribution

be given clear information, if offered an opportunity to preview the programme, about whether they will be able to effect any changes to it

3.2 Descriptions or demonstrations of criminal techniques which contain essential details which could enable the commission of crime must not be broadcast unless editorially justified.
