Yesterday (Mon 14th Nov '11) some of our production group were invited to film a flash mob that some Drama students from the University of Winchester had put together. This was everyone's first experience of a flash mob. We were told about it a few weeks in advance so that we could prepare and book some cameras out. The flash mob consisted of a medley of 8 songs that the students had choreographed dances to and learnt. So at 10.10am on Monday, Winchester High Street was used as the flash mob's stage. Whilst gaining a lot of attention, some of the general public just carried on with their day, but the majority stopped and applauded the students. The flash mob lasted about 5 minutes before they dispursed.
It was interesting to be involved in the preparation of a flash mob as I now understand the amount of hard work that goes into planning and rehearsing for these obscure events.
